The Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement: "We welcome reports of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran."
She added, "We are closely monitoring statements indicating violations of the agreement, and we call on the parties at this critical stage to fully adhere to the ceasefire."
The ministry also called for "firm steps toward a comprehensive and lasting solution," expressing its belief that "maintaining dialogue and diplomacy is of paramount importance at this time when the Middle East needs peace and stability more than ever."
She pointed out that these developments "renew the need to expedite the resolution of the Palestinian issue, which is at the core of many of the region's crises."
The statement affirmed Türkiye's readiness to "support all efforts aimed at bringing peace to the region and to make constructive contributions in this context."
Earlier on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump announced the entry into force of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran, hours after confirming that a full agreement had been reached on a comprehensive ceasefire that would take effect within six hours of the announcement and initially last for 12 hours before the war was officially declared over.
This announcement comes hours after an Iranian missile attack targeting the U.S. Al-Udeid base in Qatar, dubbed "Operation Bashaer Al-Fatah." It was preceded by U.S. airstrikes on strategic facilities in Iran early Sunday morning, complementing Washington's ongoing military, intelligence, and logistical support for Israel.
The region has been witnessing a mutual military escalation since June 13, with Israel targeting nuclear facilities, missile bases, and nuclear leaders and scientists in Iran. Tehran responded by targeting Israeli military and intelligence headquarters with ballistic missiles and drones, resulting in deaths and injuries on both sides.
