Pelita Jaya released James Dickey III at the last minute of the substitution

Pelita Jaya Jakarta management released James Dickey III at the deadline for replacing foreign players set by the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL).

Based on data from the IBL, quoted in Jakarta, Wednesday, the club based at the Soemantri Brodjonegoro Student Sports Hall (GMSB), Kuningan, Jakarta, was right at the final deadline, namely before the implementation of the last three matches in the regular round.

This means that Justin Tatum's squad replaced Dickey a few hours before Pelita Jaya's match against Prawira Bandung tonight.

Dickey comes in to replace Thomas Earl Robinson, during the 2024 IBL.

Initially, many people did not believe in his abilities.

But slowly the center proved that he was an important part of the Pelita Jaya team.

In nine regular-season games, Dickey averaged 17 points per game (ppg) and 11.8 rebounds per game (rpg).

Then in the playoffs , he contributed an average of 7.7 ppg and 6.7 rpg in seven games, including helping Pelita Jaya win the 2024 IBL title.

After his success in that season, the club management called him back in the 2025 season.

He is still projected to duet again with KJ McDaniels.

But it doesn't seem to be going well. He has only appeared in 19 games this season with averages of 13.8 ppg and 11.3 rpg.

Even in May, he missed three consecutive games. The injury-prone condition is believed by basketball fans in Indonesia as a reason for management to move quickly, in order to face the tighter playoffs phase, on June 28.

Because, Andakara Prastawa and his friends are determined to win back to back champions this season.

Meanwhile, Pelita Jaya Jakarta has yet to announce a replacement for James Dickey III, who was recruited before the regular season match against Prawira Bandung.
