Head of Indonesian National Team Talent Scout Simon Tahamata responded to the Indonesian national team's 0-6 defeat to Japan in the 2026 World Cup qualifying match at Panasonic Suita Stadium, Osaka, Japan.
"This is football, if we lose 6-0, what are we going to do?," said Simon Tahamata to the media crew after a joint viewing event or nobar of the Indonesian national team match against Japan at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta.
Indonesia had to admit Japan's dominance when they lost with a score of 0-6. The six goals for the home team were scored by Daitchi Kamada (15', 45+6'), Takefusa Kubo (19'), Ryoya Morishita (55'), Shuto Machino (58'), and Mao Hosoya (80').
After watching the match, Tahamata could not hide his disappointment and did not give much comment regarding the result.
The former Dutch national team player who is of Maluku descent said that in a match there will always be winners and losers.
