Saudi press reports revealed on Saturday a new candidate for the presidency of Al-Ittihad Jeddah, the champions of the Roshen Professional Football League, following the resignation of Louay Al-Mashaabi.
Louay Mashabi announced his resignation on Thursday, shortly after assuming the presidency of Al-Ittihad Jeddah, during which the team won the Roshen League and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadhiyah," a member of the board of directors of the Al-Ittihad club, Fahad Sindi, is considering running for the presidency.
The newspaper said that Sandy has the support of a number of honorary federal officials for this move, with the electoral system relying on a general assembly vote to select the next president.
She explained that other names are being considered for nomination, including Abdul Aziz Al-Zaid, a current board member, who has expressed his apology for accepting the position, as well as Anmar Al-Haili, the former club president and Diamond Honorary Member, who enjoys widespread honorary support.
Al-Riyadh newspaper reported that one of the candidates has already begun preparing for the new sports season, given the limited time remaining before preparations begin.
It's worth noting that Fahad Sindi has extensive leadership experience in the aviation sector, having served as CEO of Saudi Aerospace Engineering Company since February 2021. He was also included in Forbes magazine's "Most Powerful CEOs in the Middle East for 2022" list.
