The Premier League has officially launched a new match ball for the 2025/26 season called the Puma Orbita Ultimate PL, and will be used officially for the first time in the Premier League Summer Series in the United States in July.
The new ball is the result of a long-term collaboration between the Premier League and Puma that marks a new era in the world's most popular football competition.
The kick-off for the 2025/26 season itself is scheduled for the weekend of August 16.
In his official statement, Premier League Chief Commercial Officer Will Brass stated that this collaboration is not only about products, but also brings a new spirit in strengthening the value of the competition.
“The launch of this new ball marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter. We are excited to welcome Puma as a key partner in enhancing the Premier League experience on and off the pitch,” said Brass.
The Puma Orbita Ultimate PL features a technical design with 12 uniformly sized panels that ensure precise weight distribution and optimal balance. High-frequency molding technology and enlarged and deeper seams are said to improve durability, aerodynamics and stability of the ball's shape during play.
Not only technical innovation, the launch of this ball is also accompanied by a campaign entitled "Have a Ball", which aims to encourage the spirit of playing with confidence and celebrating the joy of playing football.
As part of this long-term partnership, the Premier League and Puma will also support the development of grassroots football, including the Premier League Kicks programme, initiatives for women and girls and the No Room For Racism campaign.
During the Premier League Summer Series in the US, there will also be a variety of community activities such as soccer training programs in three cities: New Jersey, Chicago and Atlanta, as well as a special event at the Puma flagship store in New York City.
