Papua Police Chief Inspector General Patrige Renwarin said that during the first semester of 2025, 43 people died due to attacks carried out by armed criminal groups (KKB).
"Of the 43 people who died, four were members of the National Police, two TNI members and 37 civilians," said Papua Police Chief Inspector General Patrige Renwarin in the Papua Police's first semester reflection, Monday.
In addition to causing 43 deaths, 47 people were also injured, including TNI-Polri.
The reflection on the first semester of 2025 delivered on the sidelines of the 79th Bhayangkara Anniversary celebration said that the Papua Police and its ranks managed to confiscate 26 firearms, 3,868 rounds of ammunition, 37 magazines and 1 explosive.
For cases of violations by foreigners in the jurisdiction of the Papua Police, which includes the provinces of Papua, Papua Mountains and South Papua, nine cases were recorded.
