Member of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Atalia Praratya said serious attention and collective action are needed to address the high data on violence against women and children in 2025.
Meanwhile, data released by the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) shows that from January to June 2025, there were 13,845 cases of violence against women and children.
"This figure is a painful reminder that our struggle to create a safe and equal environment for women is far from over," said Atalia in a written statement.
He expressed deep concern because every number in the data represents a sad story, trauma, and human rights violations that cannot be ignored.
