After being eliminated in the round of 16 of the 2025 China Open, Leo/Bagas admitted they played too hastily.

Indonesian men's doubles badminton players Leo Rolly Carnando and Bagas Maulana revealed that they played too hastily after being eliminated in the round of 16 of the 2025 BWF Tour Super 1000 China Open.

In the round of 16 match which took place at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou, Thursday, Leo/Bagas were powerless to overcome the toughness of the Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty after losing two games with identical scores, 19-21 and 19-21.

Bagas admitted that in this match, he and his partner still often made mistakes at crucial moments which could not be denied as a factor in the defeat.

"In the first game, we actually could have taken the lead, but we were too hasty in trying to close it out. We should have been more patient," said Bagas, as quoted by PBSI.

"In the second game, we could have taken the lead, but I made two errors in crucial moments, failing to return my serve twice, which was crucial in the outcome," he added.
