Bayern Munich officially signs Luis Diaz from Liverpool

Bayern Munich has officially announced the signing of Colombian national team striker Luis Diaz from Premier League champions Liverpool.

The 28-year-old striker is under contract until June 30, 2029, and will wear the number 14 shirt with the German champions.

"I'm very happy, it means a lot to me to be part of FC Bayern, they are one of the biggest clubs in the world," said Diaz, as quoted from Bayern's official website, Wednesday.

Diaz emphasized that he wants to help Bayern with his playing style and character on the pitch.

"My goal is to win every title possible, and we will work every day for that as a team," he said.

Diaz's arrival was warmly welcomed by Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, who called him one of the best left wingers in the Premier League and said he arrived in Germany with the winning character he had played for at every club.

"As a team, we worked together to make this transfer happen in a purposeful manner, and we are delighted to have an international-class player who will provide a significant boost to our team and enrich the Bundesliga. We thank Liverpool for their fair and serious negotiations," said Dreesen.
