Philippine national basketball player Justin Brownlee aims to make history with his country in the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup, which will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 5-17.
On the FIBA website, quoted in Jakarta on Tuesday, the naturalized Filipino player expressed his hope of making history again after becoming the 2023 Asian Games champion in Hangzhou, China.
"It's a tremendous challenge, of course, plus there are a lot of good teams, and I think we've made it clear to Asia that we're here and ready to compete," Brownlee said.
Based on statistics, the Philippines will appear in this prestigious tournament as the 2023 Asian Games champion.
That status puts them in the spotlight, amidst a competition dominated by strong Asian teams such as China, Iran, and Australia.
