Chinese scientists develop 'marshmallow' concrete to dampen planes during emergency landings

 

Chinese researchers have created a revolutionary runway safety system using ultra-light foam concrete dubbed "marshmallow" concrete, which can smoothly stop a plane weighing hundreds of tons during an emergency landing.

This breakthrough was achieved by China Building Materials Academy (CBMA) Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the China Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology and an affiliated technology company of the academy in Beijing.
