The head of US gaming giant Epic Games Inc. said that the company has withdrawn its antitrust lawsuit against Samsung Electronics Co. over the blocking of software from outside Google and Samsung app stores on the South Korean technology company's mobile devices.
"We are dismissing our lawsuit against Samsung after discussions between the parties. We are grateful that Samsung will address Epic's concerns," Epic Games CEO and Founder Tim Sweeney said via X, formerly known as Twitter.
Epic Games, best known for its popular online game Fortnite, filed the lawsuit last year in the US over a feature on Samsung devices that automatically blocks the installation of apps from sources outside of the Google Play Store and Samsung's Galaxy Store.
