The movement stated in a statement posted on its Telegram account that, "As part of the movement's commitment to ending the Zionist aggression against our people and ensuring the free entry of aid, it is holding consultations with leaders of Palestinian forces and factions regarding the offer it received from the mediating brothers."
She added that she "will submit the final decision to the mediators after the consultations are completed, and will announce it officially."
On Wednesday, Hamas announced that it was conducting intensive consultations on proposals it received from mediators, with the goal of reaching an agreement that would guarantee an end to the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, the withdrawal of occupation forces, and the provision of urgent relief to the Palestinian people.
The movement said in a statement that it is approaching these efforts "with great responsibility" and is conducting "national consultations to discuss the proposals we have received from our mediating brothers (Egypt and Qatar) in order to reach an agreement that guarantees an end to the aggression, the withdrawal, and urgent relief for our people in the Gaza Strip."
The statement added that the mediators "are making intensive efforts to bridge the gap between the parties and reach a framework agreement that paves the way for the launch of serious negotiations."
In the same vein, the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth quoted unnamed Israeli officials on Thursday as saying that US President Donald Trump intends to announce a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip during his upcoming meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington next Monday.
Earlier Thursday, the Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that Netanyahu informed the families of Israeli prisoners in Gaza of his "approval" to conclude a prisoner exchange deal with Palestinian factions.
According to the same statements, Netanyahu expressed approval of the latest proposal presented by the mediators, and said that his government was "awaiting Hamas's response."
For his part, Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar stated on Wednesday that there are "positive indications" regarding the possibility of reaching a prisoner exchange deal and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
In another development, informed Palestinian sources told Anadolu Agency on Thursday that Hamas is leaning toward agreeing to the prisoner exchange proposal, but has "not yet made a final decision."
The movement has repeatedly affirmed its willingness to release all Israeli prisoners in one batch, in exchange for halting the genocide and withdrawing the Israeli army from the Gaza Strip.
But Netanyahu, who is facing trial on domestic corruption charges, is accused of stalling and setting impossible conditions in an attempt to conclude partial deals that would allow him to continue the war.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a war of genocide against the Gaza Strip, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in blatant defiance of all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt the war.
This war, backed by the United States, resulted in the deaths of more than 192,000 Palestinians, mostly children and women, as well as more than 10,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that claimed the lives of many civilians, including dozens of children.
