The Houthi statement came in response to a threat from Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, who threatened Yemen on Tuesday with a fate similar to that suffered by Iran during the 12-day Israeli aggression last June.
On June 13, Israel launched a surprise attack on Iran, during which the two sides exchanged military strikes that resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries. The United States announced a ceasefire agreement on June 24, amid mutual claims of victory.
In a televised speech broadcast by the group's Al Masirah satellite channel, Al Houthi said: "The Israeli enemy's threats and attacks this week will not deter us from our position, but rather increase our resolve and determination."
He added, "The Israeli enemy carried out five offensive operations against Yemen, including 107 airstrikes and naval bombardments, but we remained steadfast, and this only strengthened our commitment to our position," without specifying the timing of those operations.
He continued: "We are firm in our position, and we will confront any Israeli aggression. We are firmly convinced of the justice of our cause, the validity of our position, and its necessity."
The Houthi Ansar Allah group affirms its commitment to continuing attacks on Israel until it halts its ongoing aggression against the Gaza Strip, which has entered its twenty-first month.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been waging a war of genocide against Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in complete disregard of all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
The war, with direct US support, resulted in the deaths of more than 192,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, as well as more than 10,000 missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine that claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
