Member of Commission VIII of the House of Representatives Aprozi Alam asked the Ministry of Finance to approve the budget relaxation for Fiscal Year (TA) 2025 proposed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag).
According to him, the application for budget relaxation worth Rp7.29 trillion is crucial for the sustainability of Islamic education programs that directly impact the community.
"In the Commission VIII working meeting with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, we fully understood the urgency of this budget relaxation," Aprozi said in a written statement.
He explained that most of the programs proposed by the Ministry of Religion are basic services that are mandatory spending and directly affect millions of the nation's children and religious educational institutions throughout the country.
He revealed that the budget allocation proposed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs will be used for various vital programs such as Madrasah School Operational Assistance (BOS), Islamic Boarding School BOS, Raudhatul Athfal (TK) Operational Assistance (BOP), Islamic Boarding School BOP, Madrasah Education and Teaching Staff Development, Public Service Agency Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP BLU), and State Sharia Securities (SBSN).
It was stated that the Ministry of Religious Affairs has proposed budget relaxation twice. First, the Minister of Religious Affairs (Menag), through letter No. B-052/MA/KU.00.1/3/2025 dated March 5, 2025, proposed efficiency relaxation and an additional budget of Rp9.68 trillion for the Ministry of Religion's 2025 fiscal year to the Minister of Finance.
From this proposal, the Ministry of Finance approved a budget relaxation of IDR 2.38 trillion, which consists of approval for efficiency relaxation at the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Islamic Education of IDR 2.18 billion for Madrasah BOS and efficiency relaxation at the Directorate General of Umrah Organization of IDR 207.54 billion for the organization of the Hajj pilgrimage.
