Megawati proposes a charter for a shared future to build a new world order

The 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Megawati Soekarnoputri, proposed a global declaration called the Charter for a Shared Future at the Global Dialogue of Civilizations forum held at the Diaoyutai State Guest House, Beijing, China.

Megawati conveyed this idea in her speech, which emphasized the importance of universal human values as the foundation of a new, civilized and peaceful world order.

"However, to strengthen the moral and operational foundations for the world's future, I sincerely hope that this dialogue forum will also encourage the birth of a declaration on a Charter for a Shared Future that will complement the ideas of His Excellency President Xi Jinping in a more concrete way," Megawati said.

Megawati called this proposed declaration an umbrella of Universal Ethics, which can serve as a moral guide for all nations in building a more just, equal, and inclusive world.

"The Charter is a call to build a world based on respect among nations, not domination, and rejects all forms of hegemony and exploitation, while prioritizing collective responsibility," he said.
