Indonesia is ready to lead a dialogue with South Asian countries to collaborate on AI





 Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria stated that Indonesia is ready to lead a dialogue with countries in the Global South (Global South) to strengthen collaboration in formulating fair and sovereign regional regulations on artificial intelligence (AI).

"Indonesia has a strong commitment to encouraging collaboration with the Global South. When meeting with UNESCO Director-General Gabriel Ramos a year ago, he actually asked Indonesia to take a leading role in the dialogue with countries in the Global South," Nezar said in an official statement.

He also conveyed this commitment during a meeting with Irene Jay Liu, Director of AI, Emerging Tech & Regulation, International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM) APAC; Maia Fortes, Executive Director of the Associação de Jornalismo Digital (Ajor) Brasil; and Michael Markovitz, Head of GIBS Media Leadership Think Tank South Africa.
