Former Croatian President Ivo Josipovic has assessed that China's Global Civilization Initiative to promote mutual understanding and cooperation among civilizations has significant significance and long-term impact."I strongly welcome and agree with the GCI. I believe that this initiative is a very important concept with far-reaching implications," Josipovic told Xinhua.He emphasized that the initiative's core idea of connecting civilizations, countries, and societies is crucial in a world facing increasing challenges."Today, the world is facing various crises -- armed conflicts, wars, pandemics, and natural disasters -- that no single country can overcome alone," Josipovic said.
Josipovic, who served as President of Croatia from 2010 to 2015, added that the GCI presents a vision of how the international community should work together to address these global issues.Josipovic also highlighted the initiative's principles, embracing cultural diversity and promoting equality, mutual learning, dialogue, and tolerance among civilizations."Different civilizations must not only respect each other, but also strive to understand each other," he said.
He, through mutual understanding, can remove barriers and promote sustainable development for all civilizations.
