We are aware." Washington refuses to comment on the killing of an American citizen by Israeli settlers in the West Bank

A US State Department spokesperson said, "We are aware of reports of the death of a US citizen in the West Bank," adding that the department had no further comment "out of respect for the privacy of the victim's family and loved ones."

On Friday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced in a statement the martyrdom of the young man Saif al-Din Kamil Abd al-Karim Musalat (23 years old) in the town of Sinjil, north of the city of Ramallah, in the central occupied West Bank, as a result of “severe beatings all over his body by settlers.”

Later, the ministry announced the death of the young man, Muhammad Rizq Hussein Al-Shalabi (23 years old), as a result of being shot by settlers in the same town.

For its part, the Washington Post quoted relatives of Musalat, who is from Tampa, Florida, as saying that he was beaten to death by Israeli settlers.

This attack is part of a series of crimes committed by settlers and the occupation army against Palestinians in the West Bank, which have escalated in conjunction with the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023.

According to Palestinian data, these attacks resulted in the deaths of at least 998 Palestinians in the West Bank, the injury of approximately 7,000 others, and the arrest of more than 18,000.

In Gaza, Israel, with unwavering American support, continues to commit genocidal crimes that have left more than 195,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, most of them children and women. Over 10,000 are missing, hundreds of thousands displaced, and a famine has claimed the lives of many, including dozens of children.
