Investing in property can enable Indonesian investors to obtain a Greek Golden Visa.

Indonesian investors have the opportunity to obtain a residence permit in the European Union, specifically Greece, through the Greece Golden Visa program by investing a minimum of 250 thousand euros, or around Rp4.8 billion, in property.

To help Indonesian investors understand these opportunities, International Migration will hold an information session in Jakarta on August 4 and 5, 2025.

"This roadshow aims to provide Indonesian investors with direct insight into the residency-by-investment program in Greece," said Director of International Migration Georgina Mieke in a written statement.

The Golden Visa is a five-year residency program for non-EU citizens without the obligation to reside in Greece.

Visa holders only need to appear at least once every five years for biometric purposes. This permit also applies to spouses, children under 21, and parents of both parties.

In this case, Internegri Migration is collaborating with International Property Settlements (IPS) Singapore, property developer Lux and Easy from Greece, and Athens-based law firm Machas Law Firm.

Investors can consult and gain access to ready-to-move-in units in Athens and Thessaloniki that could be investment objects, with projected rental returns of 4-5 percent per year.

Investors can also receive legal assistance for property due diligence , property tax discussions in Greece, and Greece Golden Visa applications.

For your information, Indonesia also has a Golden Visa program which was inaugurated by the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo.

Types of Golden Visa include individual investors, corporate investors, former Indonesian citizens (WNI), descendants of former WNI, second homes, global talents, and world figures.

This type of visa aims to make it easier for foreign nationals (WNA) to invest and work in Indonesia. The Golden Visa grants a longer stay in Indonesia, between 5 and 10 years, subject to certain investment requirements.

In addition, other benefits provided to Golden Visa holders include priority access to immigration services at international airports and the absence of the need to apply for a limited stay permit (ITAS).

The Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, has issued 471 Golden Visas since their inauguration in July 2024, with a total investment value of IDR 9 trillion.
