Milan won the eighth stage of the 2025 Tour de France after narrowly edging out Wourt van Aert and Kaden Groves at the finish line in Laval on Saturday.
In a stage for pure sprinters and with no changes at the top of the overall standings, the Lidl-Trek rider became the first Italian to win the Tour de France since Vincenzo Nibali did the same in the Alps in 2019.
The 24-year-old pure sprinter now leads the sprint points standings and wears the green jersey. He replaces the previous green jersey holder, Tadej Pogacar, who held both the green and yellow jerseys as the overall leader after winning the seventh stage.
Three-time Tour de France champion Pogacar remains in the overall lead, with Remco Evenepoel and Kevin Vauquelin in second and third, respectively. There were no changes in the top ten as the peloton played it safe all day.
A total of 177 riders out of a total of 184 participants remained and crossed the Brittany countryside, which was surrounded by spectators along the route.
