Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta coach Youbel Sondakh admitted that the poor performance of his attacking line caused his team to lose heavily to Pelita Jaya Jakarta and emphasized that he would immediately make improvements for the decisive match.
In the second game of the 2025 IBL semifinals at the Soemantri Bodjonegoro Sports Hall in Jakarta on Saturday, Satria Muda was forced to surrender 58-92 by Pelita Jaya, forcing a third match to be played to determine who would qualify for the final.
"Pelita Jaya played extraordinary today. Thank goodness we still have one more game," said Youbel. " Offense is definitely our main problem. We will try to improve ."
Pelita Jaya immediately took a 12-2 lead in just five minutes. Satria Muda cut the deficit to 15-18 at the end of the first quarter, but Youbel's team couldn't hold off their opponents in the second quarter, who added 25 points.
"From the start, they beat us first. There was a 12-2 lead in the first five minutes, and we struggled a bit. After that, they gained confidence to play basketball," Youbel said.
He admitted that Pelita Jaya had a very good combination of local and foreign players, which he said made it difficult for his players to get into the rhythm of the game.
