Meta doubles AI infrastructure budget by 2025

Meta continues to expand its ambitions in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) by more than doubling its spending on AI infrastructure development, including for data centers and servers.

"We estimate that 2025 capital expenditures, including principal payments on finance leases, will be in the range of US$66–72 billion, an increase of approximately US$30 billion compared to the previous year," Meta said in the company's second-quarter 2025 earnings report, as quoted by Tech Crunch on Thursday.

This surge will not stop in 2025. Meta also indicates that spending on AI infrastructure will increase significantly again in 2026. The company stated that it is “aggressively pursuing opportunities to add capacity” to support the growth of AI technology and its business operations.

"We believe that building world-class AI infrastructure will be a key advantage in developing the best AI models and products. Therefore, we will significantly increase our investment in 2026," said Meta CFO Susan Li.
