American boxer Ricardo Sandoval defeated Japanese boxer Kenshiro Teraji to win the World Boxing Association (WBA) flyweight (50.8 kg) world title in Yokohama Buntai, Japan.
"Sandoval achieved the biggest victory of his career with a narrow 115-112, 117-110, and 114-113 decision over Teraji," the WBA reported on its official website, as monitored.
The fight was intense from the opening bell. Teraji sought to control the tempo from the start, relying on his jab and lateral footwork to control the distance.
