Iran's Fars News Agency published new details about an Israeli attack targeting a National Security Council meeting attended by President Masoud Pezeshkian on June 15.
The agency explained that the attack targeted a National Security Council meeting attended by the heads of the three branches of government and a number of senior officials. The meeting was held on the lower floors of a building in western Tehran .
The agency reported that the Israeli attack was carried out in the same manner as the assassination of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah , with Israeli fighter jets dropping six bombs targeting the building's entry and exit points to cut off exit routes and halt airflow.
She explained that those present at the meeting were able to exit the building using an emergency hatch that had been prepared in advance.
The attack resulted in minor injuries to several officials, including President Pezeshkian, who sustained injuries to their feet as they left the scene.
The agency said that authorities have launched an investigation into the possible presence of agents, given the accuracy of the intelligence information the enemy possessed regarding this attack.
On June 13, Israel, with US support, launched a 12-day aggression against Iran, targeting military and nuclear sites, civilian facilities, military leaders, and nuclear scientists.
Iran responded by targeting Israeli military and intelligence headquarters with ballistic missiles and drones. Washington then declared a ceasefire between the two sides on the 24th of the same month.
