Nvidia announced that it has officially applied for permission from the United States government to resume selling its H20 artificial intelligence (AI) chip to China.
Nvidia stated that they expect to receive approval from the United States government soon and can start shipping in the near future.
In addition, Nvidia also introduced a new chip called "RTX Pro" which is specifically designed for the Chinese market and is claimed to be fully compliant with United States export regulations, especially for use in digital manufacturing sectors such as smart factories and logistics.
The H20 chip isn't Nvidia's most advanced AI chip, but it's currently the most powerful product that can still be sold in China without violating export regulations.
This chip is designed for inference needs , namely running trained AI models such as chatbots, image recognition, and other everyday applications.
