EA's online shooter game Anthem will officially be shut down permanently on January 12, 2026.
According to Engadget's Anthem will be removed from EA's storefront on August 15, 2025, but the game will still be available for download after that as long as it's already in a user's library.
Some aspects of the game have actually been discontinued.
Starting today, players will no longer be able to purchase premium currency in-game, although they can still use their balance to make other purchases.
Since it can only be played online, the Anthem game will no longer be playable after its servers are shut down in January next.
