The Independent Organizing Committee for the 2025 U-16 Boys and Girls National Club Championships has sanctioned two coaches in the boys' category for an unsportsmanlike incident that occurred during the match between Merpati Bali and PS Roar Basketball Jakarta at the Unesa Sports Hall.
The person in charge of the Mandiri U16 Boys and Girls Interclub National Championship, Azrul Ananda, said that the two head coaches, namely Aldion Christian Aditia and Amin Prihantono were sanctioned and were not allowed to accompany the team until the end of the national championship.
"Secondly, the organizing committee will report the minutes and video recordings to the DPP Perbasi and submit further decisions to the federation," Azrul said in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He explained that the sanction was a decision of the Independent Organizing Committee's meeting of the 2025 U-16 Boys and Girls Interclub National Championship, which was held immediately after the incident.
"As the person in charge, I support the decision made by the organizing committee, especially since it was based on considerations and the results of direct observations, re-observations via video, and testimonies from parties involved in the incident," he said.
