Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion (93 kg) Magomedov Ankalaev is set to face Alex Pereira in a rematch at UFC 320 at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas on October 4.
"UFC CEO Dana White announced the match (Ankalaev vs. Pereira) on Tuesday (23/7)," reported the MMA Fighting website, as quoted in Jakarta, Wednesday.
For Ankalaev, the fight is a chance to cement his title after defeating Pereira to win the title in March by unanimous decision.
Since winning the title, Ankalaev has been working hard to secure a rematch as he hopes to defeat the Brazilian once and for all.
The upcoming fight also presents a chance for Pereira to return to the top of the light heavyweight division after his first loss to the Russian champion.
Prior to his loss, Pereira had been on a five-fight winning streak in the division, including four wins to defend his title.
