Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian praised the work of Indonesian artisans who have made extraordinary contributions to cultural advancement and regional economic growth.
This was conveyed by Tito at the 45th Anniversary celebration of the National Crafts Council (Dekranas) held by the Balikpapan City Government, East Kalimantan.
"I can't say anything more than a huge thank you. And I think my friends who attended, and all over Indonesia, were also very happy that these activities ran smoothly," said Tito.
Tito stated that the event also strengthened the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises sector. This was evident during the COVID-19 pandemic several years ago.
He explained that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the regional government's economy had plummeted. However, the economy of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) Province remained strong thanks to the economic growth of the MSME sector. In other words, MSMEs serve as the backbone of the economy.
