West Jakarta PMI distributes logistical aid to flood victims in Rawa Buaya

The Indonesian Red Cross of West Jakarta distributed logistical assistance to flood victims on Jalan Darma Wanita RW 001, Rawa Buaya Village, Cengkareng District, West Jakarta.

The Head of the West Jakarta PMI, Beky Mardani, said that the logistical assistance distributed was in the form of five boxes of mineral water, three boxes of biscuits, two boxes of baby diapers, and two boxes of soap.

"There are quite a lot of areas in West Jakarta that are flooded, one of which is Rawa Buaya. We immediately went down to provide basic logistical assistance needed by residents," said Beky at the location, Tuesday.

He also appealed to residents to be careful of diseases that are prone to appearing after flooding.

"We urge victims to be aware of diseases that often appear after floods, such as leptospirosis, itching, and skin infections. Prevention is much better than cure," said Beky.

Beky said that his party continues to monitor and coordinate with the sub-district to ensure that residents' needs are met.

It is known that the flood occurred due to heavy rain that had poured since the previous day, with the water level reaching 40-60 centimeters (cm).
