YouTube clarifies plans to demonetize AI-generated content

YouTube is attempting to clarify and assuage the concerns of its creators after a significant number of creators expressed strong reactions to the upcoming monetization policy, particularly for content deemed inauthentic.

This move comes after YouTube announced updated restrictions around inauthentic content under its YouTube Partner program guidelines, and some misinterpreted it as the platform's plan to demonetize various types of videos, including AI-generated ones.

As reported by The Verge, Thursday, according to a video uploaded by YouTube Editor-in-Chief Rene Ritchie, the changes to be introduced on July 15, 2025 are minor updates to existing monetization policies.
