Tuxla Gutierrez, Chiapas, December 9.- A trailer transporting migrants in Chiapas suffered a spectacular accident this afternoon on the Tuxtla-Chiapa de Corzo highway, an accident that left at least 49 dead and 59 injured, three of them seriously , according to state authorities.
Security, rescue, and civil protection personnel are already on site to treat the injured.
According to information circulating on social media and from unofficial sources, the truck overturned near the El Refugio neighborhood in Tuxtla Gutiérrez when its brakes failed, crashing into the guardrail and overturning.
The accident occurred between three and four in the afternoon .
According to initial reports, the trailer was overcrowded, carrying dozens of migrants.
The State Civil Protection System reported that "preliminary reports have been issued for 45 injured people who are being treated on-site and, if necessary, transported to hospitals in various locations in the region ."
He stated that he was "providing care following a car accident involving two trucks traveling on the Belisario Domínguez and Ribera Cauharé Bridges in Chiapa de Corzo."
