A Malaysia-Thailand duel colored the third round of the Mandiri Indonesia Open.

The third round of the 2025 Mandiri Indonesia Open golf tournament was a thrilling affair on Saturday, with a duel between Malaysian and Thai golfers shaping the third-round match.

Malaysian golfer Shahriffuddin Ariffin maintained his position at the top of the Mandiri Indonesia Open 2025 standings after finishing the third round with a 17-under par score at Pondok Indah Golf Course, Jakarta, on Saturday.

Shahriffuddin, known as "Dino Fowler," closed the third round with a score of 68 or 4-under par, one stroke ahead of his closest competitor from Thailand, Suteepat Prateeptienchai, who recorded a total of 16-under par. The competition between the two was tight from the start to the end of the round.

"I played solid today with a score of 4-under. The big mistake today was that my putts didn't work and my shots were short. But I just focused on playing, trying to reach the green and make birdies," said Shahriffuddin, quoted from a written statement.

Suteepat had matched Shahriffuddin's score midway through the round, but a birdie on the 18th hole put the 28-year-old Malaysian back in the lead.

Home golfer Naraajie Emerald Ramadhanputra opened up a chance to break into the top five after posting a score of 68. With a total of 12-under par, Naraajie now sits in T7 with two other golfers.

"I had a slow start in the early holes, there were several birdie opportunities that failed to go in. However, I am still grateful for 4-under par and satisfied with today's result," said Naraajie.

Meanwhile, another Indonesian golfer, Kevin Caesario Akbar, recorded a score of 69 to collect a total of 8-under par and occupy the T29 position.
