Italian full-back Alessandro Resmi announced his retirement as a professional footballer after his contract with Italian League club AC Milan expired this summer.
From Florenzi's personal Instagram post on Wednesday, he wrote a thank you to all those who helped him during his time as a professional footballer.
"Finally, I want to thank everyone who has accompanied me on this long journey, especially all those who have worked silently behind the scenes: you have all left a mark on me," Florenzi wrote.
"Without you, I wouldn't be who I am today. Thank you once again, my friends: today we will say goodbye, but you will always be a part of me," he said.
The player, who decided to retire at the age of 34, began his career as a footballer with AS Roma's junior team in 2011 and was loaned to Crotone.
