Taiwan has officially replaced Kuwait, which withdrew from its match against the Indonesian national team in the FIFA Match Day on September 5 at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya.
According to the PSSI release, Wednesday, Kuwait had previously withdrawn suddenly, as conveyed in a letter received by PSSI on Thursday last week.
"The FIFA Matchday match between the Indonesian National Team and Kuwait was forced to be cancelled due to the sudden unilateral cancellation by the Kuwaiti FA via a letter to the PSSI on August 21," PSSI wrote on its website on Wednesday.
“Instead, the Garuda squad is scheduled to face Taiwan."
With this, Indonesia will still play two matches in the FIFA Match Day window next month.
After facing Taiwan, ranked 172nd in the world on September 5, the Garuda will face Lebanon on September 8.
