Amorim admits Manchester United are not ready to compete in European competitions

Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim admitted his team is not yet ready to compete in European competition after only being able to draw 1-1 against Fulham in the English Premier League at Craven Cottage.

"We're not ready to play in Europe or the Premier League. We need time to develop as a team," Amorim said, as quoted by BBC Sport.

The draw against Fulham means the Red Devils are winless in their first two matches of the 2025/26 season.

United finished 15th in the Premier League last season, their lowest finish in the club's history. Defeat in the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur also meant they failed to qualify for European competition for the first time since the 2013/14 season.

Although the club has brought in a number of new players in the summer transfer window, Amorim believes his team still needs time to develop.
