Persib Bandung has officially signed Italian center-back Federico Barba ahead of the closing of the 2025/2026 BRI Super League transfer window.
Deputy CEO of PT Persib Bandung Bermartabat Adhitia Putra Herawan said Barba's presence was an important addition to strengthen Maung Bandung's defense line.
"Persib welcomes you with open arms. We believe your experience and qualities will make a significant contribution to the team this season," said Adhitia in Bandung on Wednesday.
The player, born in Rome on 1 September 1993, was signed for one year after becoming a free agent after parting ways with Swiss club FC Sion in July.
Adhitia stated that Barba's recruitment was based on the recommendation of coach Bojan Hodak, who felt the need to add depth to the back line.
Persib now has four foreign legions in the defense sector with Patricio Matricardi, Julio Cesar de Freitas, and Frans Putros.
