Mexicali, August 12. Through “ BC by BC ,” a regional film showcase, the aim is to bring the public closer to productions made in the state, featuring local talent, technical equipment, and resources.
For this edition, a new screening of the exhibition will take place on August 13, with a free screening of the feature films "I Am What I Never Was" and "Between the Strings," both produced by talented Baja Californians.
The screenings will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Cinépolis Plaza Río (Tijuana) and Cinépolis Plaza San Pedro (Mexicali).
“I Am What I Never Was” is the debut film by Rodrigo Álvarez , a graduate of the filmmaking program; and “Between the Strings” is the work of filmmaker Fernando A. Fisher , born in San Diego and based in Tijuana.
For his part, Film Commissioner Javier Espinoza Medina highlighted that both productions have been recognized at festivals both inside and outside the country, confirming the quality of the cinema produced in the state .
“ I Am What I Never Was ” has received awards such as Best Film at the Guanajuato International Film Festival, Audience Award at the Cine Las Américas Film Festival, as well as Jury Award and Distribution Award at the Ensenada International Film Festival, and Best Film at the “Hola México” festival in Los Angeles.
