Mexicali, September 20 – COVID-19 booster shots for older adults will be available by mid-October, and the flu vaccination schedule will resume.

This was noted by Health Secretary Adrián Medina Amarillas, who expressed the need to reactivate the vaccination program and stated that 388 doses of the basic schedule have been administered so far.

Medina Amarillas attended Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda's morning press conference, where various topics were discussed.

He indicated that, as a result of the pandemic, the production of vaccines necessary for a complete vaccination schedule worldwide was discontinued.

However, he emphasized that a batch of Pfizer pediatric vaccines was received and could be administered to children before the start of the school year.

He said that in the coming weeks, the ongoing influenza and COVID-19 campaign for older adults will begin, and it could be announced by mid-October.
