Mexicali, February 21.- Approximately 200 people gathered outside the IMSS Clinic 30 to demand justice for the case of Keren Vallejo, and for all the medical negligence cases that have gone unpunished.
Attendees brought banners, balloons, and T-shirts with messages and protests to demand that Keren's death not go unpunished. According to attorney Arturo Verdugo Camacho, she died from untreated hemorrhage, and her organs were removed from her body, preventing the Forensic Medical Service from establishing the cause.
With the slogans "Damn gynecologist, go to jail, not home!", "Justice for Keren!", "We are all Keren!", "Giving birth should not be a matter of death!", the protesters stood in front of the medical facilities, which remained closed, while police officers looked on.
Verónica Vallejo, Keren's sister, pointed out that this is not the only case, and that since the case of the young woman who "was healthy and only came to give birth" was reported, more people came forward to report it.
