German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund has officially announced the extension of their coach Niko Kovac's contract until June 30, 2027.
This decision was taken after Kovac's impressive performance since taking over the team last winter, where he managed to improve the club's performance.
"The 53-year-old coach and his staff took over at Borussia Dortmund when the team was 11th in the Bundesliga last winter. Under his leadership, Die Schwarzgelben secured a Champions League spot, demonstrating significant progress in a short time," the club said in a statement on its official website on Tuesday.
Borussia Dortmund Sporting Director Lars Ricken praised Kovac's dedication and the Croatian coach's numerous qualities.
"He has a deep knowledge of football, clear principles, honesty, direct communication, and disciplined management," he said.
