Chelsea set aside Club World Cup bonuses for Jota and Andre

English Premier League club Chelsea has set aside the 2025 Club World Cup winning bonus paid to its players to make a financial donation to the families of the late Diogo Jota and Andre Silva.

Chelsea were crowned Club World Cup champions after defeating Champions League holders Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 3-0 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. According to The Athletic, the Blues' victory earned them US$114.6 million, or approximately Rp1.8 trillion.

The Blues allocated US$15.5 million (approximately Rp249 billion) to be distributed equally among the players representing Enzo Maresca's team during the tournament. Each player will receive over US$500,000 (approximately Rp8 billion), with the decision made jointly between the club and the players that the families of Jota and Andre will also receive the same amount.

"The total value of each portion is over $500,000 before currency conversion costs from US dollars to British pounds, in addition to relevant corporate fees, taxes and social security costs," The Athletic wrote on Thursday.
