China crushes Thailand in straight sets at the U-21 World Championship

The Chinese U-21 men's national volleyball team crushed the Thai national team in three straight sets, 25-18, 25-17, and 25-19 in the third match of pool A at the 2025 Men's U-21 World Volleyball Championship held at the Jiangmen Sports Center, Jiangmen, China.

This victory also strengthened the position of host China at the top of the Group A standings with a score of nine points.

Meanwhile, this defeat leaves Thailand stranded in fifth place in the standings after only gaining one point from three matches.

Starting the first set, China immediately dictated Thailand's defense through attacks led by Qi Geng.

China continued to break down Thailand's defense and took a seven-point lead midway through the set, 17-12.

In a far superior position, China closed out the victory with a score of 25-18.

In the second set, China still appeared too dominant compared to Thailand.

A series of set plays from the Bamboo Curtain team saw them score point after point. China scored four consecutive points to take a commanding 22-15 lead before closing out the second set with a 25-17 victory.

In the third set, Thailand's line of blockers tried to put up a solid defense.

However, Hai Li's hitting actions continued to bring China to score points until they were ahead 16-12.

China became increasingly untouchable heading into the end of the third set, as Thailand repeatedly found themselves in a stalemate during set play. China secured a 25-19 victory.
