Indonesian men's singles badminton player Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is determined to put aside the bitter memories of the 2024 Paris Olympics and focus on facing host representative Toma Junior Popov in the first round of the 2025 BWF World Championships at the Adidas Arena, Paris, France.
Ginting will meet Popov in his first match, an opponent who ended his Olympic run last year. He was eliminated in the preliminary round after losing to Popov 19-21, 21-17, 15-21.
"I'm definitely thinking about my results at the last Olympics, but I don't want to focus too much on that. I'm more focused on what I can do and preparing for the upcoming competition," Ginting said in an official statement received.
