City Council urges people to take advantage of the waiver of fines and surcharges for municipal debts



 Tijuana, August 18. The Tijuana Treasury called on taxpayers with outstanding municipal debts to take advantage of the final days of the decree forgiving fines and surcharges corresponding to fiscal year 2025 and prior years and get current.

In a press release, the decree, which expires on August 31, represents a facility that does not eliminate execution costs but establishes that those who pay their Property Tax and Real Estate Acquisition Tax will receive a 100 percent waiver of fines and surcharges accrued for noncompliance with their tax obligations.

Individuals who settle their municipal fees debts will be able to access a 50 percent waiver of fines and surcharges, and those who pay fines for non-compliance with municipal regulations will be able to receive a 50 percent discount, provided the fines are paid in full.

The bulletin clarified that fines related to the improper use of spaces reserved for people with disabilities and those established in Article 119 of the Traffic and Vehicle Control Regulations of the Municipality of Tijuana are not eligible for waivers.
