Mexicali, August 13.- No injuries have been reported as a result of incidents caused by the presence of occasional rains with electrical discharges in some areas of Baja California, reported the head of the State Civil Protection Coordination (CEPC), Salvador Cervantes Hernández.
The CEPC coordinator stated that the preliminary incidents reported in Mexicali included fallen billboards, poles, and cables, flooding in various areas, and some power outages, with no reported injuries.
The coordinator stated that CEPC personnel, the Heroic Fire Department, the Municipal Police, and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) are responding to the incidents to restore normalcy.
The coordinator reminded everyone that in the face of these meteorological phenomena, the recommendation is to remain calm, have emergency supplies on hand, and seek information from official sources.
It is recommended that you turn off your power if water enters your home, and if necessary, seek shelter or a safe area, he said.
If you are traveling by vehicle, make sure the route you will be traveling is clear and you do not run the risk of becoming trapped. He urged residents to stay away from houses, trees, and utility poles that could be knocked down.
The coordinator asked the public to report any damage or incidents to the 911 emergency number so that the appropriate authorities can respond as quickly as possible.
