Confrontation during blockade at Prime Wheel

Tijuana, September 24 – The family of Servando Salazar Cano, who disappeared a month ago, established an indefinite blockade at one of the entrances to Plant 1 of the Prime Wheel company. However, last night, workers from Plant 2 entered by jumping over the barricade placed by the protesters.

In a live broadcast on Facebook, Wendy Bravo, Servando Salazar's wife, alleged that workers struggled with protesters to gain entry to work at the company's Plant 2. She called on authorities to come and restore order, as "this was peaceful." investigation into Servando Salazar.

In the video, Wendy Bravo can be heard trying to convince the workers to respect the blockade, explaining that the Ministry of Labor assured them they would be paid for the day, as the workers had signed up on a list hours earlier. Despite this, they continued to enter the plant. Protesters even claimed that the company had opened other access points to allow staff to enter.

Because yesterday marked one month since Salazar Cano's disappearance, protesters set up an early morning sit-in outside the maquiladora—which they said would be indefinite.
