In Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, the death toll from the Israeli occupation's bombing of Nasser Medical Complex rose from 15 to 20, including five journalists, four medical personnel, and a member of the civil defense, in a new massacre targeting a vital sector. Another bombing targeted tents for displaced people in the Al-Mawasi area, leading to the martyrdom of a sixth journalist, Hassan Douhan, and another Palestinian, and the injury of others.
This brings the number of journalists killed since October 7, 2023, to 247, according to the Government Media Office in Gaza.
The Palestinian presidency described the bombing of Nasser Hospital and the killing of five journalists in the course of their work as a "war crime," calling on the international community to take urgent action to hold Israel accountable and provide protection for journalists.
In various areas of the Gaza Strip, the occupation forces committed several massacres, including the targeting of a house in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths of five members of one family, including a child. A Palestinian was also killed and others were injured in a shelling that struck the courtyard of a house in the same camp.
In Gaza City, a Palestinian was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting an apartment in the Abu Rahma building in the Old City. In the northern Gaza Strip, six Palestinians, including a father and his three children, were killed, while others were injured or missing in an airstrike targeting an inhabited house near Al-Karama Hospital, northwest of Gaza City.
A child was killed and several Palestinians were injured in Israeli artillery shelling that targeted homes near the Abu Iskandar bakery north of Gaza City. Several Palestinians were injured in shelling that targeted a tent housing displaced persons in the Al-Rimal neighborhood west of Gaza City.
The occupation army carried out violent bombing operations using booby-trapped robots targeting buildings in the Zarqa area north of Gaza City, the Zeitoun neighborhood south of the city, and Jabalia al-Nazla.
At the same time, the occupation army launched a violent artillery bombardment on Al-Nazla roundabout, Al-Nazla cemetery, and Al-Ghabari area in Jabalia Al-Nazla.
In the central Gaza Strip, five Palestinians, including a child, were killed and others were injured in an Israeli attack targeting a group providing humanitarian aid near the Kissufim crossing (east).
Two Palestinians were killed and eight others waiting for aid were injured by Israeli gunfire near an aid distribution point on Salah al-Din Street, south of the Wadi Gaza area. A Palestinian woman was killed by Israeli gunfire east of Deir al-Balah.
In the southern Gaza Strip, four Palestinians waiting for aid were killed by Israeli gunfire near a distribution center near the Morag axis southeast of Khan Yunis. Five Palestinians were also killed in sporadic Israeli shelling of Khan Yunis.

In the west of the city, a woman was killed and seven others were injured in an Israeli bombardment that targeted a tent housing displaced people near the Matar Mosque in the Al-Mawasi area.
Accountability is required
In the context of targeting journalists, OHCHR spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani stressed that "the killing of journalists in Gaza should shock the world, not lead to stunned silence, but rather to accountability and justice." She added, "Journalists are the eyes and ears of the international community and must be protected. They are not targets, and hospitals are not targets either."
Shamdasani stressed that Israel continues to prevent international journalists from entering the Gaza Strip despite the ongoing war and famine, calling for an immediate and independent investigation into the crimes committed against Palestinian journalists and civilians.
For his part, UN Secretary-General António Guterres "strongly" condemned the Israeli occupation forces' targeting of Palestinian civilians and journalists in a bombing that targeted Nasser Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip.
Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, said at a press conference that Guterres strongly condemns the Israeli bombing of Nasser Hospital, stating that these latest horrific deaths highlight the grave risks faced by healthcare workers and journalists while performing their vital duties in the midst of conflict.
Dujarric noted that the Secretary-General stressed the need to respect and protect civilians, including health care workers and journalists.
He continued: "The Secretary-General reiterates his call for an immediate and lasting ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian access throughout Gaza, and the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages."
With American support, Israel has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international calls and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
The Israeli genocide left 62,744 Palestinians dead and 158,259 wounded, most of them children and women. More than 9,000 people were missing, hundreds of thousands were displaced, and a famine killed 300 Palestinians, including 117 children.
