semifinals Jack Draper and Jessica Pegula defeated fan favorites Carlos Alcaraz and Emma Raducanu 4-2, 4-2 in the US Open mixed doubles match.
Draper and Pegula were newly paired in the US Open mixed doubles after their original partner withdrew, but that proved to be no problem for the top seeds. They defeated Mirra Andreeva and Daniil Medvedev 4-1, 4-1 to advance to the semifinals.
"It feels great. We're really happy to get it done. We played against really good players, got two wins today, and it was really fun, so we're happy to be here tomorrow," Pegula said after the match, as reported by the ATP.
They will next face third seeds Casper Ruud and Iga Swiatek, who have two dominant wins.
Meanwhile, Danielle Collins and Christian Harrison made the most of their last-minute opportunity. The American pair, who entered the draw just hours before the start of play after Katerina Siniakova and Jannik Sinner withdrew, also advanced to the quarterfinals.
Collins and Harrison beat Belinda Bencic and Alexander Zverev 4-0, 5-3, then easily defeated compatriots Ben Shelton and Taylor Townsend 4-1, 5-4(2).
"We've been friends for a long time. He's one of my closest friends in tennis. I know his strengths and weaknesses. He has no weaknesses at all," Harrison said.
"He didn't lose the ball too often. He made me comfortable to sit and watch today."
The home favorites will next face defending champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori, who also haven't dropped a set.
The mixed doubles semifinals will take place on Wednesday at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
